Denoel French Pastry Shop and Café
From 1966 to the present, Guy Denoel has been making authentic French pastries from scratch all by himself. After 43 years here, he and Christine can tell many stories about Saint Augustine and its history. For example, at Christmas time when he was younger, Guy made over one hundred elaborate Buche de Noel, Yule logs, for his customers. Today, his shop is one of the few places in town where one can buy a fresh croissant baked each morning and a variety of tasty pastries.
Guy makes baguettes on the weekends, too. His best selling pastry is the Napoleon filled with real custard. They have a lively lunch business, serving homemade soups, such as chicken noodle soup and eighteen bean soup, and sandwiches.
Guy and his wife Christine are from Belgium where Guy’s Flemish family owned the Patisserie Clement for many generations.
