Mustard Seed Café
The Mustard Seed Café located inside Nassau Health Foods is managed by former restaurateur Lisa Harter. The menu reflects creative and tasty items that are made with an extensive selection of fresh, sustainably grown, local produce and herbs.
Chef Lisa is not new to the restaurant business and she and her husband grow some of the produce used at the café on a 3-acre plot of land in the western part of the county. Their crops vary with the season, and might include collards, okra, broccoli, cucumbers, tomato, snap peas, sweet potato, watermelon, and basil. Among her suppliers are Cabbage Creek Farm, Fernandina Farmers Market, and Sweet Grass Dairy.
Lisa has taken many of her Southern favorites that could be high in unhealthy fats and adapted them to flavorful healthier alternatives. Stop in and try the Green Tomato Bruschetta or Roasted Organic Veggie Salad with Goats cheese. Catering is also available at the Mustard Seed Café and their commitment to the environment is evident in the use of earth friendly disposable foodservice products.
