Native Sun Natural Foods Market
When we spoke with the owner of Native Sun recently, his energy, enthusiasm and passion for what he wants for his store and his community is contagious. Only certified organic products are used throughout the market. All fresh produce used in prepared foods are local, seasonal and organic. Cheeses and meats are grass fed, and many are local. On the day we visited the market two of the prepared offerings were Collard Wraps and Melon Gazpacho. Meats are local from Cowboy Farms. Milk and cheeses are from Wainwright Dairy in Live Oak FL. Their fish is “Day Boat” caught fish from N.E. FL. and a company called Clean Fish that is rebuilding the habitats for farm raised fish.
Greens are from local farms. Fruits, vegetables, fish and meats are labeled with their source.
Native Sun Natural Market received the 2010 Socially Responsible Retailer Award (Natural Products Assoc.). Their Green Apple Mission statement is to develop programs that will allow our employees and customers to work together toward building a more sustainable environment for our local community.
