Chef/Owners Peter and Deidre Kenny are making a mark on the restaurant scene in St. Augustine with their local, award winning, Purple Olive restaurant located in the Seaside Plaza on A1A, just south of St. Augustine Beach. The menu reflects creative dishes and old favorites that are made with an extensive home grown selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish.
Chef Kenny has made a commitment to freshness and quality. He believes in the value of buying locally and sources his food from nearby farmers markets, and ranchers, as well as, from the purveyor of the freshest seafood and meats. The fish found on the Purple Olive menu is freshly caught and the shrimp are from our local waters. The greens and seasonal strawberries for his special crepes are delivered several times a week from Fresh Start Hydroponic Farm and the beef dishes featured on the menu are from our own neighbor- CartWheel Ranch. If there is something special on the menu that is not available in this area Chef Kenny makes use of the best regional sources. You might catch a glimpse of his New England heritage in the seasonal Nantucket scallops or Prince Edward Island mussels. You can also spot Chef Kenny picking out fresh vegetables from S & J Farm or clipping lemon grass from his herb patch. Breads, stocks, sauces, and salad dressings are all made on the premises.
Over the last five years the Purple Olive has featured prominently in the winner’s circle of such events as Taste of the Beach, Great Chowder Debate, and the RSVP Chocolate Gala. The loyal following of this restaurant will tell you that it is well worth a visit!
