Riverdale Potato Farm

Right off the road on County Route 207 heading for Hastings, sits Riverdale Potato Farm. You'll see rows of many white vertical towers filled with fruits and vegetables standing tall out next to the barn. This local, family farm is growing hydroponically-- a big change after years of growing conventionally. With the help of the University of Florida and our St. Johns County Extension they planted strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes, spinach, and lettuces all on a small piece of land. Hydroponic vegetables are grown without petro-chemicals and herbicides are not needed because all the plant nutrients are feed to the plants roots daily, allowing for the best possible flavor and nutritional quality. These fruits and vegetables are so clean and stay fresh a very long time after picking.

It's a U-Pick but don't worry you never have to bend down-just stand up and keep walking down the rows along the towers to select clean, healthy, LOCALLY GROWN produce for your whole family and neighbors too.
